We visited with Pastor Alfredo Mairena this morning and went over the basic building plans for the church that Metanoia will be building for his congregation this summer. This is just one of the churches that Metanoia will be building this summer with the help of churches from the United States. 

This is the existing church building.

This is the local well were the community comes to get water.

Here are three of the church's neighbors, plus part of the 70-plus children that are attended every week during the weekly children's program.

These pictures were actually taken by my 9-year old son, Spencer, while I was preaching, then, when  and Shanna and I were ministering.  Spencer did a pretty good job, if I don't say so myself!

A Matter of the Heart

Solomon said in Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

What does he say? 

Watch your heart.  Monitor your heart. Guard your heart.  Take good care of it because life flows out of out your heart. Life comes from our hearts.   In other words, we live from our hearts.  We love from our hearts.  We parent from our hearts.  We lead from our hearts.  We manage from our hearts.  We communicate from our hearts.  Everything we do, the words that we say, the attitudes that we have, it all comes from our hearts.  That is why Solomon said, GUARD YOUR HEART!  Guard here means to be careful of what goes in.  Basically Solomon was saying, station a watchman at the entrance of your heart, and make sure that you don’t allow yuck to enter into your heart.

Watch closely and don’t permit certain things to go into your heart.  Remember to guard your heart because it is the wellspring of life.   Here are a few questions we need to ask ourselves regarding this issue.  

1)    What are we allowing into our hearts?

2)    What are our hearts full of?

3)    What is our filter keeping us from saying and doing? 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Antiparasite Campaigns in Posoltega, Nicaragua

This is just one of the banners that Posoltega's mayor had hanging over the streets in the city.

Shanna, my incredible wife, distributing antiparasite pills at one of the various schools that they visited.  22 schools participated and 20,000 people were attended.

It looks like Gioconda is enjoying her time distributing the pills.
